A low troop carrier with its wheels hidden under the hull, so it hovers across a table instead of rolling. Thirty-two soldiers and two clankers travel with it.

Why we built it this way

This is the smallest build in the yard and deliberately so: a child of six can finish it alone in one sitting, and the result is a toy rather than a display piece. The deck is open along both sides for loading, the soldiers stand on studs, and there is nothing fragile sticking out to be snapped off during a battle on the carpet.

The wheels are the part we are pleased with. They are recessed far enough under the hull that the craft looks like it is floating a few millimetres above the floor, yet it still rolls straight when pushed. It takes minifigures and weapons from other brick sets, so a platoon can grow beyond what came in the box.

What builders wrote

Fits in with Legos perfectly.

This is a great value for the money. My sons, aged 22 and 13, who are both extremely picky, love it. It goes extremely well in their Star Wars Lego scenes at a fraction of the price.
