BuildingBoat Mast Mounts — display stands for LEGO models

Three BuildingBoat display stands for LEGO building kits, each cut for a named set. They lift a finished model off the flat and hold the hull at the angle it was designed to be seen from.

What a BuildingBoat display stand does for a finished LEGO building kit

A LEGO display stand is a structural problem before it is a decorative one. A vertical bracket for the UCS Millennium Falcon has to carry a wide, heavy, front-loaded hull without letting it creep forward, so ours runs a triangular spine into a weighted base 11.8 inches long and clips into the Falcon's existing lower plating rather than gripping it from outside.

The 75389 bracket solves the same problem with a dual-sided lateral triangle and a widened front area; it supports several times its own weight and lets the ship be lifted off with one hand. The 75394 and 75357 stand is a different shape altogether — an inclined column on a rotating base, so an Imperial destroyer can be turned through 360 degrees without being unclipped.

All three are brick kits in their own right: 172, 216 and 408 pieces, numbered bags, a colour booklet, no glue and no drilling. They are a quieter alternative to clear display cases — a case protects, a stand presents — and plenty of collectors run both, a stand inside a case.

Collectors sort this shelf by set number rather than by price, because each mount is designed to showcase one specific model. A Star Wars hull, a LEGO Technic chassis and a city build each want different geometry, so these are brackets for named LEGO sets, not for a category. Clear acrylic display cases do the other half of the work — they protect a built model from dust — and a premium case with one of our stands inside is how most of the collection photos sent to the yard are staged.

Technic builds are the exception we will say out loud: a chassis with exposed gears reads better left flat, where the mechanics are visible, and fans of that line usually skip a stand altogether.

Questions about the Mast Mounts

Which sets do these stands fit?

The brackets are cut for LEGO 75192 and 75389, and the inclined stand is cut for 75394 and 75357. We do not sell a universal cradle, because a cradle loose enough to fit everything holds nothing firmly.

Can the stand be mounted on a wall?

No. All three are free-standing: a weighted base on a desk, a shelf or a cabinet floor. Nothing screws into a wall.

Is the model damaged when it comes off?

No. Every mount is a clip into existing studs or plating, so a ship separates from the stand the way two brick assemblies separate.
